Boston, Massachusetts: The holidays are a special and joyous time of year. It is also a time when individuals need to be alert to the possibility of crime. The Boston Police Department encourages individuals to take simple precautions to ensure a happy and safe holiday. The hustle and bustle of the holiday season can easily create a distraction for people. However during this festive time, it is important to pay special attention to the things going on around you. The holiday season is considered peak season for burglars, pickpockets and shoplifters. Don’t let the spirit of giving lull you into giving burglars and pickpockets a chance to dampen your holiday spirit. Thieves love the holidays as much as everyone else, especially because it’s an opportune time for crime. The Boston Police Department believes you can never be too careful, too prepared or too aware. Car break-ins around 200 Mount Vernon

C-11 Dorchester, Massachusetts: All residents, commuters and visitors to the Expo Center are advised that a series of car breaks in that area is currently under investigation by District C-11. Please exercise diligence with respect to any personal items in your vehicles that could be the subject of a theft. Do not leave valuables, especially holiday purchases, in a visible location. Limit the number of items that are secured in your vehicle if possible. Robberies on Bailey Street

C-11 Dorchester, Massachusetts: On 10.31.06 at approximately 2:18 a.m., units from District C-11 responded to the Boston Medical Center for a person who had sustained a stab wound. It was determined that the victim had sustained an injury to the right hand after he was robbed of cash by a black male in his thirties, about 6'-0", 175-180lbs. medium complexion, slender build, wearing a green jacket over a black hooded sweatshirt, and dark colored jeans. The suspect reportedly fled the area on foot. The incident is currently under investigation.

District C-11 detectives are also investigating the commission of an armed carjacking that occurred during an armed robbery of a pizza delivery employee in the area of 12 Bailey Street. The victim was making a delivery at this location when he was approached by a black male, light complexion, with his hair in cornrows, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and black sneakers. This individual was armed with a handgun; a second suspect was also present but no further infomration could be provided at the time of the incident. The suspects fled in the victim's car, a 1996 Saturn SC2 coupe, Massachusetts plate #23AY38, brown in color.
All citizens are requested to call District C-11 Detectives at 617.343.4336 immediately if they have any information concerning this incident.

Arrest, Breaking & Entering, Night

C-11 Dorchester, Massachusetts: Officers from District C-11 and the Special Operations K-9 Unit arrested one Shawn Broxton on 10.24.06 for a breaking and entering at Sandy's Variety Store, 378 Washington Street, Dorchester. In addition to the B&E, the suspect was also charged with possession of burglarious tools. He was later arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
