STRANGER DANGER

B-2 Roxbury, Massachusetts: On Tuesday, March 20, 2007, a victim walked in Area B-2 and reported an attempted abduction at 85 Warren Street, Roxbury. Victim reported that her six year old child stated a stranger approached her on Friday, March 16, 2007, after she got off the school bus in front of the Boys & Girls Club. The suspect was described as a male with a mustache, about 20 years old, 6'1, 240 lbs, with a black T-shirt, brown pants, brown and black shoes. The suspect approached victim and stated, “I have puppies in the car and candy, can you come with me?” The victim stated that she immediately ran inside the Boys & Girls Club, but forgot to tell adults.

Boston Police are investigating this incident and currently have not received any other reports of similar incidents. However, police would like to take this opportunity to remind parents to have a discussion with their children about ‘Stranger Danger’. Here are a few helpful safety tips to share with your children:

•Always tell your parents where you are going and who you are going with
•Do NOT take candy or other gifts from strangers
•Stay away from isolated or abandoned areas
•NEVER get into anyone’s care without your parent’s permission
•If you see someone unusual hanging around a school yard or park tell your parent or teacher
