The Boston Police Department Neighborhood Crime Watch Unit honored twenty-two Boston students who won prizes in the Annual National Night Out Poster Contest today at the awards luncheon at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel. Click to see pictures.

Mayor Thomas M. Menino and Acting Police Commissioner Albert E. Goslin presented the winners with their prizes, while their families, teachers, Police Youth Service Officers and other city officials applauded them.

The contest theme was “Together We Make a Safer Neighborhood.”  The Neighborhood Crime Watch Unit believes that the key to safer neighborhoods lies in cooperation among neighbors, police, businesses, churches, and community based organizations.  If we as residents continue to reach out and watch out for each other, neighbor-to-neighbor, both young and old, we can and will make this a better city to live in, work in and enjoy.  This contest is one of the ways the Boston Police Department involves Boston's youth in a positive strategy.

Congratulation to the 2006 National Night Out Poster Contest Winners!!
